Baz Ratner

Based in Geneva and shooting worldwide, Baz Ratner is an experienced and accomplished stills, video and drone photographer. From 2017-2023 has been covering East Africa’s political, sociological and environmental stories. Baz’s resourcefulness and commitment to get the perfect frame in any situation led him to find a unique point of view in unexpected places, telling stories from conflict zones and complex humanitarian emergencies.
Since the beginning of his career in the Middle East more than two decades ago, Baz covered the region's conflicts and human-interest stories. Working for the leading photo agencies, Baz was chosen to lead notable assignments in challenging environments such as Afghanistan, Ukraine and the DRC. Thanks to his earned set of skills, Baz is as comfortable working as part of a team as he is as a proven production team of one. His experience and proficiency allow him to operate and deliver worldwide while managing the logistics.
Baz’s work is frequently published in leading international media and front pages of the NYTimes, Washington Post, Le Monde, London Times etc. During his career Baz was a Pulitzer Prize nominee twice. Currently Baz is engaging in coverage of the effects of climate change on Africa’s population, politics and environment, and is available for editorial, humanitarian and commercial assignments.
