About Baz Ratner
Baz Nils Ratner was born in Israel in 1975.
He started working as a freelance photographer in 2000 covering the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
He started as a stringer for the Associated Press in 2004, covering big events like Yasser Arafat's funeral in 2004, the Israeli pull-out from Gaza in 2005, and the Israeli-Lebanese war of 2006.
His work has appeared in publications such as Time magazine, Paris Match, New York Times, Washington Post, London Times, USA Today, and many others.
He won the APME Associated Press Managing Editors award as part of the AP team covering the war between Hezbollah and Israel.
He was a Pulitzer finalist in the same category for work covering the conflict in Lebanon between Israel and Hezbollah in 2006.
At present Baz is based in and works in London.
